The research and developments of technical project and business plans for phase-by-phase implementation of digital terrestrial television broadcasting standards DVB-T in Ukraine were performed by specialists of Concern RRT. Beginning from 5 November 2001 the experimental operation of digital television broadcasting with capacity of 5 television and 1 radio programs have been carried out on 51st Television Channel in Kiev.

Further, within digital packet one of the interactive services Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is delivered.
The experiment of operations showed that with 0,6 kW transmitter power and 200 m lifting height of transmitting antennas the firm reception of television programs is provided within 50 km radius with the quality of digital programs which is distinctly higher than one of the analogue's.
